Today marks Passover. Jewish people around the world celebrate the start of Passover at sundown, a traditional seder is held. It celebrates the Exodus, commemorating the Hebrews' liberation from slavery in Egypt. The Israelites marked the doorposts of their homes, for the angel of death to ‘pass over’ and spare them. The Israelites left in such a hurry that they could not wait for their bread to rise - so in commemoration of this hardship and escape to freedom, the symbolic un-leaven Matzo is eaten during Passover.
Did You Know?
The children of Israel departed Egypt under the light of the Full Moon. In Exodus 12:29 , the LORD smote the Egyptians at Midnight, and Pharoah released the Israelites sometime afterward. So the LORD gave the Chosen People plenty of bright moonlight for traveling as they left Egypt on foot.
With that, there is a Libra Pink full Micro-Moon peaking tonight at 8:22 PM EST. Full moons are a time for release, so ask what you may be holding on to and need to let go of. It is in Libra which is about balance, justice, and in turn, rebirth. A self-worth rebirth....so you can base your rituals around that theme.
The Importance of Color
Pink is a mixture of the colors white and red. White represents the link to the divine and purity and red represents passion and stimuli. As a result of this composition, it is associated with unconditional love, romantic love, and nurturing. Pink inspires hope and positivity. It encourages a sense of comfort and relaxation, soothing the senses. Pink makes you feel like everything is going to be alright. It calms our emotions and increases our sensitivity and tenderness. It represents softness and compassion. In color healing and therapy, Pink treats conditions to do with a lack of self-love, a feeling of loneliness, and of feeling unloved. It brings an awareness of your life purpose and soul mission. Pink promotes self-realization and unconditional love of the Self and others, alleviates jealousy, alleviates grief and sadness, and awareness of the deepest emotions and feelings. Pink surrounds us with protection and a sense of love and comfort. This color encourages you to nurture and care for yourself, helping you feel connected to and receptive to your needs. Pink asks you to take time out for yourself and do the things that make you feel happy and cared for....A self-worth rebirth.
Did You Know?
This is also the original Passover Full Moon - "From this night forward, God commanded that Israel celebrate the Passover on the evening of the Full Moon." As of now, Passover does not always fall on the full moon due to calendar and leap days. What a treat it is tonight!
With that, Jesus and the disciples ate the Last Supper in the Upper Room as the Full Moon rose over Jerusalem. In the night, the bright Full Moon shone down upon Jesus as He prayed in the Garden of Gethsemane, as depicted in "The Passion." This astronomical fact of Scripture is often overlooked.
Christians around the world celebrate Palm Sunday tomorrow. The service on Palm Sunday includes a reading of "The Passion'", the story of the suffering, and crucifixion of Jesus of Nazareth of Galilee. Jesus' death is seen by Christians as salvation and as a reminder of how prophets are often killed when they stand for justice and peace. The priest wears red and white.
So, the connection is the full pink moon itself! Think of the many historic events and people who started new journeys during this exact same moon! You can too, believe and receive! xoxo

THE GIFT OF THE ROSE
Our bodies and societies have been influenced by the sun, the moon, and nature since the dawn of time. Nature is our reflection, you can use its cycles to move forward. I leave you today with the image of the rose. I believe it has beautiful messages of love in it.
For Jews, roses are associated with the festival of Shavuot, which commemorates God giving the Torah to Moses...because the way rose petals open when they bloom suggests the process of revelation.
Roses have spiritual meanings for Christians as well, as they associate them with the blood of Jesus as well as the Virgin Mary.
The famous Sufi philosopher and teacher Hazrat Inayat Khan compared the rose to the soul. He said that a rose blooming from a bud to a fully formed flower is like the soul opening up to God. Both the rose and the sun have the same needs: fertile soil, bright sun, clean water, clean air, and room to grow.
“The soul becomes like a rose and begins to show the rose quality. Just as the rose consists of many petals held together, the person who attains to the unfoldment of the soul begins to show many different qualities. These qualities emit fragrance in the form of a spiritual personality.
The rose has a beautiful structure and the personality which proves the unfoldment of the soul has a fine structure: in manner, in dealing with others, in speech, in action. The atmosphere of the spiritual being pervades the air like the perfume of the rose. The rose has seeds in its heart, and so the developed souls have in their heart that seed of development which produces many roses.” - Hazrat Inayat Khan
Let's spread love to all! In the immortal words of Lenny Kravitz: "You got to let love rule."
Please be kind.
Hope and light live within us all.
xoxo
